As you guys know, I have a lifestyle that I call Dirty-Paleo.
For the most part, I’ve eliminated grains, dairy, refined sugar and other processed foods from my diet, but hey, sometimes cheese, ice cream, and a warm tortilla with butter is good for the soul.
This cauliflower pizza crust falls into that. It’s grain free and uses fresh ingredients. However, it does involve…cheese.
If you are more hard-core paleo dedicated then you can find a substitute. But if you’re just looking for a new culinary adventure, I HIGHLY recommend this one!
Here’s the break down!
First, you’ll need to make cauliflower rice. Don’t worry. It isn’t too hard.
What you’ll need for cauliflower rice:
A head of Cauliflower
A small food processor.
Yeah, that’s all.
Cut the cauliflower into smaller bits that’ll easily fit into your processor.
This is the time consuming part, but it’s worth it.
It should look like this when you’re done.
One head of cauliflower can make a large pizza crust or 4 individuals.
Onto the actual recipe part!
Ingredients (for two individual pizzas):
2 cups of cauliflower rice
1 cup of shredded cheese
Seasonings of your choice.
2 sheets of wax baking paper
Before starting, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix the cauliflower, cheese and egg into a large bowl.
Add herbs or seasonings like basil, ranch mix, dill garlic, salt, and/or pepper.
My particular favorites are salt, dill and garlic.
Spread the cauliflower into even circles about half a centimeter in thickness.
Put them into the oven for 20 mins or until the edges are brown.
While the crust is baking, use this time to prep any toppings!
Once the edges have browned beautifully, it’s time to flip them!
Place another sheet of wax paper on top, and flip the crusts. The paper that was baked on the bottom should now be on top.
Remove this sheet && you should have two intact crusts ready to be topped!
