Hey Simple && Sweeties,
This is the most amazing place if you’re into the Southern Cali, Wanderlust-yogi, natural food life. And it’s still awesome even if you aren’t. There are so many things to love about this place.
They have juices, smoothies, wraps, soups, bowls, and salads. It’s one of only a handful of certified vegan organic restaurants in Texas. In the south, Texas especially, ‘vegan’ is a dirty word. For that reason, I was hesitant at first about going. One of my girlfriends suggested it last spring just as the weather was warming up. It was the best snack suggestion I’ve ever heard!
First things first, they grow a portion of their menu. You can go outside to enjoy your drinks or meal and sit among their urban garden. After you order something with kale, for example, you can watch the juice-istas go outside and cut a fresh handful. Crazy that’s the way humans use to live haha. Anyone know what kind of tree a fresh picked burger comes from? JKJK!
As you guys know, I’m pretty into being green and natural. This place earns another check in my book because the ‘plastic’ they use to serve their juices are totally biodegradable. They have spacial containers for them where later they’ll be composted and probably used to fertilize their gardens!
Another fun point, if they can’t grow it, they’ll make sure it’s fresh, local and organic!
Another reason to love this already perfect place is on a few weekends a month, they have classes on natural living and healthy habits like juicing, gardening, wholesome dieting etc.
The Northgate Juice Joint is the perfect study spot, afternoon date and blogging oasis. They have free Wifi too! That’s a definite must for a college town. Also, they have meal plans which are fabulous if your parents are into the care-package thing. All around, this place is Simple && Sweet approved.
Hopefully I’ll see yall out there soon! The Dew Drop and Greenpeace are my two favorite juices && the Aloha bowl is fabulous!
